The Ankle
The good: I have definitely improved. My foot no longer looks like an overstuffed sausage, without the boot I have some motion (uncomfortable but not excruciating), and with the boot I can make a few shaky toddler steps. I went to Ortho on Thursday and they said recovery so far is adequate but slow, and it’s healed enough to start PT.
The bad: PT is, in their words, as intense as I can tolerate to minimize atrophy and long-term complications like arthritis. No pain, no gain. The treatment plan is to transition off crutches, then to a brace, then to a shoe, over 4 weeks. No strenuous activity, which means classes for March are uncertain. It will depend on how the next 2 weeks go.
Monday – Springvale
Melissa is teaching both hours at Springvale this month. You can also dance with Melissa at her 8820 class in North Ridgeville Wednesdays 6:30pm – 9:30pm, and I highly recommend it.
Beginner friendly lessons from 7pm – 8pm, intermediate lessons from 8pm – 9pm.

Thursday – Brothers Lounge
Laura is back at Brothers next week. She is a social maven! You can find information about the Brothers class and her other classes on Facebook. If you haven’t been to this class of all country music, now is the time give it a try.
This is a beginner friendly line dance, no experience needed. Beginner lessons and reviews 7pm – 8pm, reviews and dancing 8pm – 9pm. We dance on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month.

Friday – Westlake
Ronna is keeping Westlake going this month. I have her playlist and it looks great. I’m glad she taught Hooked On Country, that is a classic we do at Springvale every classic country night.
This is a beginner friendly line dance, no experience needed. It is open to everyone 50+ and you do not have to be a Westlake resident. Classes are pay as you go.
